Finishes and stash

Hello again!  I have some stash and a couple of finishes to show.

Hope Song by Heartstring Samplery

Christmas Snowfall Biscornu by Just Nan, Chubby Bee by Jeannette Douglas, Fourth of July Rules by Primrose Cottage, Owlvira's Frightful House by Just Nan, and some linen.

Harvest Tiny Town, Frosty Tiny Town, Any Tiny Town, More Any Town Tiny Town, Seaside Tiny Town, and Patriotic Tiny Town, all by Heart in Hand Needleart.  Christmas Eve Mouse and Rose Heart Bunny by Just Nan.  The Queen Bee by October House Fiber Arts.

I knew I had some more!

One of the Tiny Town's that I thought was in the other pile.  Bees in the Greenhouse by the Blue Flower, Christmas Countdown by Erica Michaels, more linen, the 2023 JCS Christmas Ornament issue, Hardanger Filling Stitches by Yvette Stanton, Songbird Serenade by Counting Puddles.

Needle Travel.  Lists all of the known shops in each state and their locations.  Lists quilt, yarn, embroidery, cross stich, needlepoint, spinning, and weaving shops. I hope to put it to good use!

Timely Trinkets November Edition by Joseph's Workshop.  I finished this one.

I was not impressed by the kit.  The linen was cut wonky and not serged.  The kit included a size 24 needle which was way too big for 32 count linen.  For the price I paid, it should have been nicer.  I probably won't buy another, even though they are adorable.  The above gets finished to go in the little box 2 pictures up.  Oh, and there are no finishing instructions included in the kit and the chart was very hard to read.

Whew!  That's a lot of stash!  I think that should hold me for a bit.  Maybe.....

See you soon!

Retired

Hello everyone!  I hope there are at least a few people who still read my blog.  I retired March 1, yay!  I retired after almost 36 years with the Indiana Department of Correction.  And I don't miss it!  I have a few pictures of the stuff that was gifted to me for my retirement.  I was truly spoiled!

My best friend got me the stuff in the first 3 pictures, plus a pair of spring themed hot pads which I forgot to photograph.

The following is all from my work.  Lots of great stuff!

In case you can't read the above, it says "I don't give a sip, I'm retired!"  And it sparkles!

There is a sash and a metal tiara in the above box that both say "Officially retired" in pink sparkly color!

The above is a very nice, big, and heavy canvas tote bag.  Love it!
The wind chimes are too pretty to put outside.  The disc part at the bottom was very hard to photograph.  It says "Never underestimate the difference you made and the lives you touched"  Yes, I cried when I opened it.

The candle is a lavender-eucalyptus scent and I love it!

Now that I am retired, I hope to be able to post at least once a week, if not more.  I have pictures to share of stash and recent finishes.

Take care everyone!

New Year start

I always start a new project on New Year's Day and this year, I can't decide which one! I've narrowed it down to the 4 below.

My Stitching Chair Necessaire by Hillside Samplings

Summer Garden by Country Cottage Needleworks

Quaker Seasons by My Big Toe

Denise, 2017 Pincushion Doll by Giulia Manfredini

I know which one I am leaning towards.  What is your choice?

Hello, hello!

Hello!~  How is everyone?  Doing pretty well here.  I thought it had been well over a year since I posted, but not so!  I posted in March!

Here are a few things I have done.

Just finished this snowflake this evening.  Designed by KD Designs.  Love it!  The pictures don't do it justice!  It sparkles like crazy!

Can't remember the designer of the Bee Pin Ball but it was fun to do!

And the beaded owls!  Oh so fun to do!  Again, can't remember the designer.  Will try to remember to find these out and edit this post.

I am a member of the seed bead group, Seed Beads and More, and they had an advent calendar.  Lots of pretty things to bead up!  Hope to get some done soon.  And I finished stitching a piece by a French designer.  It has to have beads added, and then ironed, and I will get it posted soon.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that the new year is kinder to us all!

Happy New Year, Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter!

Guess this is my first post this year.  I thought I had  posted.  Oops!  Oh well.  Things have been busy around here.

I have a little story.  Back in 2020,  my aunt passed away just a few weeks before my mom did.  My uncle lived in their house and is now downsizing and moving into assisted living.  My aunt was a needleworker also.  She did beautiful work!  This is what they let me have that was hers.

                                            Angel of Love, L&L
                                            A beautiful fairy
A dragon by a Christmas tree and fire place
                                            4 Seasons
                                            Love this one!
                                            Winter
                                            Christmas snow globe
                                            Summer
                                            Autumn
                                            Spring
The above crochet books were my grandmother's.

And my favorite thing they let me have.

What you are looking at is a box that my uncle made for my aunt to put her finished pieces in without having to fold or roll them up.  He is an awesome wood worker!

I've been having some hip and back problems lately, but hopefully I am on the mend now.  Anxious for spring to get here with the warmer weather so I can get outdoors and walk more!  I have been stitching, but not a whole lot.

Oh, if anyone knows the designers for the above pieces (I know the first one - Lavender and Lace) please let me know.

The above spring, autumn, winter, and summer pieces are finished to hang and there is a dowel rod in the spring one.  I am going to make some kind of removable hanger to attach to the dowel rod so I can hang them.   They are so detailed!  Sorry the pictures aren't the best.

Back soon!  Happy stitching!

Beading and baking

That's what I did on Christmas day.  My oldest son and his family were mostly sick and it was too cold for me to get out, so we just all stayed in our homes.

I made these beaded stars for co-workers at my second job.  They are so fun to do !

Pattern by Deb Roberti.   Made with diamond duos, gem duos, 11/0 and 8/0 seed beads, fireline, and a jump ring.

These are all the cookies I made.  Sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, and funfetti chip.  They are all so good!

Haven't stitched in a while, but looking forward to doing it this upcoming long weekend.

Happy New Year!~
